Scallan Motorsport team consists of 2 brothers, family and friends!
Driver Graham Scallan and navigator Tomas Scallan and a very hard-working service crew who when we’re together make Scallan Motorsport.
Based in Wexford, the sunny Southeast of Ireland we enjoy our motor sport and the rallying scene. We’re probably known best for our MK II Escort exploits, but then moved into Group N & 4 wheel drive with their Subaru N14 and then stepped up to the Group R category which they won outright in 2015 to become an Irish National Champion. They have now stepped back into a state of the art Mark2 Escort which is not for the fain hearted.
We are regular competitors in Irish tarmac rallying, starting back in 1998 in our home event in Wexford.
Driver Graham Scallan has a wealth of driving experience from RWD – 4WD. He has been in the the top 3 of rallies, won various GroupN and class awards. He has also won sprints out right in Ireland before. He also done 00 in front of Colin Mcrae in Killarney in 2005. Graham has a love for motorsport and is the ex Chairman on Wexford Motorclub, board member on the commission of Motorsport Ireland and has a true love for Motorsport.
Navigator Tomas Scallan from Wexford has been competition in rally’s since 1999, having competed in class 3 for most of his rallying, Tomas achieved nine class wins & seven second place finishes. Tom won the Honda Cup with Thomas O Rourke in 2010 and became National Champion in Ireland in 2015.
In 2005 he joined forces with Graham! Tom remarked that the new Escort will be a whole different kettle of fish, and if we have some luck we should have good results.
My job is to keep the notes to him as fast or slow as we need them, we use number notes and we make these before the event’s and to anyone that rallies will know its a boring but essential job, number notes go as follows – 1 being an easy bend and 6 being a tight one and after that its square’s and hairpins! On making notes we find out where all the crests and jumps and also because it’s Ireland, pot holes too!
If I get it wrong it can all go wrong, so let’s just hope we can keep it right for a very long time to come!
For 2024 the car will be looked after in service by the trusty hands of Paddy Mc Donald (PMD Motorsport), Paddy has a wealth of experience on Rally cars. He will be helped by Sean Sammon, Brian Roche & many more listed below.
